870 wingmaster 20ga compatibility

Hello all- new to the group. I have a compatibility question I need some guidance on. I have an older (1960-1970 I believe) 870 wingmaster 20 gauge 2-3/4"; I purchased a number of accessories for this gun which would fit an 870 express 20 gauge, however they do not fit my wingmaster properly. For instance, the forend for an 870 express 20 gauge is to small for my 870 wingmaster 20 gauge (tube diameter is larger on my wingmaster); trying to find someone that can confirm for me compatibility; want to put a adjustable stock on it for my son (AR style) and need to know which will fit, will an 870 12 gauge style fit my old 20 gauge wingmaster? That’s going to be a tough one for you because the older 20ga Wingmasters were built on physically larger frames. Most anything aftermarket will not fit unless it is SPECIFIC for an older 20ga.

If the serial number ends with an X The 20 ga was build on a12 ga receiver and the magazine tube is 12 ga also, this should give you some guidance on
buying accessories. hope this helps.
