Photos of the very nice Remington 870 Police from Remington 870 Forum:
Some features of the Remington 870 shotgun have changed, such as the locking safety. Let’s examine some of the main differences between the Remington 870 Police, Remington 870 Wingmaster, and the Remington 870 Express. The Remington 870 Wingmaster is the classic shotgun that is often called the “Cadillac” of Remington. The Remington 870 Police is a specially built and crafted shotgun the looks similar to a Wingmaster, but instead has a dull finish to it.
The Remington 870 Express is considered to be the most affordable of the three. Anyone who is new to shotgun ownership, and on a budget, will likely choose the Express. Remington has been able to make this shotgun more affordable because they have less manual labor going into its manufacturing. Plus, there are rumors Express shotguns are not polished or de-burred like the more advanced models, such as the Police and Wingmaster. If you’ve seen the new Marine Magnum and Tactical shotguns, you may have noticed they’re based on the Remington 870 Express model. However, the Express has similar high-quality steel components inside of it that the better 870’s have. The only difference is a different finish and that it does contain some MIM parts and plastic parts as well.
The Remington 870 Express contains a polymer trigger group assembly that most gun owners are familiar with. However, the look and feel of this trigger group could be a whole lot better. Not only that, but a polymer trigger group is believed to be less durable. That is why more Remington 870 shotgun owners are upgrading their existing shotguns with a police metal trigger group assembly instead. This particular metal trigger group is the same one that you’d find in a real Remington 870 Police shotgun. What is so great about this trigger group assembly is that it’s made out of metal, which means it is more durable and more reliable than the OEM polymer trigger group that comes with the Remington 870 Express. It also has a much better look and feel as well. Some people think that it’s made of steel but it is made of aluminum.
There are all kinds of shotguns you can choose from when it comes to self defense or hunting. The only thing shotguns have in common is they do a lot more damage to your target than traditional handguns. Most people these days use shotguns more for hunting rather than self defense, but there are still some old school gun enthusiasts who use shotguns for both. You might think that it doesn’t matter which shotgun you use for self defense, but there are some differences between certain shotgun types that could affect your decision.

The Remington 870 is a pump action shotgun model that is one of the best in the world. There are many different versions of the Remington 870 and each version is made for different purposes with different accessories and upgrades. The Remington 870 Police version is based off the Remington 870 Express model. The Express was always considered an important shotgun in the sporting market. But despite the cosmetic differences of the various Remington 870 shotguns, they all have very similar parts inside of them. The Remington 870 Police uses the same platform as the 870 Express because they are both suitable for the streets. However the functionality of the 870 Police version is superior to that of any other Remington 870 version. They are made to be superior because they are used by the military, law enforcement, security guards and correction officers. These aren’t jobs where people would use their shotguns just to go hunting with. These jobs require shotguns with the best speed, balance and accuracy. Otherwise the person’s own life could be at risk from the dangerous person they are trying to stop.
