AP Custom 4×4 Shell Carrier (Shell Caddy)

13 September 20115 comments Accessories

AP Custom 4×4 Shell Carrier is a fantastic product! I have tested it with dummy shells for a long time and couldn’t wait to try it on the shooting range. I spent several hours and 150 shells on the shooting range this weekend to see how 4×4 Shell Carrier works.

It is really good and enables me to load shotgun very fast.

It is extremely easy to use and adjust. AP Custom 4×4 Shell Carrier is very easy to attach to the belt, because it has customizable lock on the back. It can be customized to fit wide or narrow belts.

Shell caddy saves space on your shooting belt allowing you to have 8 shells in one place. Of course, it requires some training but when you mastered it you will be loading your shotgun very fast.

AP Custom 4×4 Shell Carrier constructed of CNC machined aluminum, it is very sturdy and reliable.

The only problem I have found is that 4×4 shell carrier will not work with European made 2 3/4″ shells which are little longer in size than US made. I have RIO (Spain) buckshot and slugs with 2 3/4″ shells and they did not fit the shell caddy.

What length shells do you normally use? 2 3/4″ is the standard 12 gauge shell length here…

They will work with 2 3/4 inch shells, as that is what they are made for, you may want to look to see if your shells your useing are 2 3/4 not the slightly longer out of spec shells you see from the EU like http://www.sellier-bellot.cz brand shells, some of them are 2 5/8 .
The 4×4 will not work wit h3 inch shells

Simon, thanks for your comment! I have just fixed text. You are right, European made shells are little longer in size.

no problem, its great bit of kit, having that many shells at the ready is just great, being made of metal and not plastic meen that it will last a very very long time.
The attachment on the back is a “bladetec” “tec Loc” attachment, they cost about $10 USD and can allow you to use any belts from 1inch to 2.5 inch police belt, so no matter what you have it will fit nice and secure.
