ATI Remington 870 Collapsible Stock for Remington 870
Posted on January 8, 2010
One of the readers of my blog shared his experience about the ATI Remington 870 Collapsible Stock for Remington 870:
“I have ATI M4-style stock but I don’t use it. It’s a crap.
First of all there are gaps between parts of the stock especially when it is fully extended. Second disadvantage is that you need to take it off before disassembling your shotgun. Third problem is that this stock works good with high sights and you need additional cheek piece.
Also, ATI forend is a pain too, I can’t take it off, it stuck. And when I decide to change it I will have to contact an armorer.
As an alternative, I have ordered SpeedFeed stock and it works perfectly without any problems above.”

My opinion is that just about everything ATI makes is junk! Again, just my opinion.
Take care, J.R.
I’ve had similar luck with my ATI top-folding stock. The build quality is garbage. It’s not stable when extended; it blocks the sights when folded up. The seams from their molding process slice up my hands when shooting. I’ll be removing it soon in favor of a Knoxx SpecOps. In the mean time I’ve covered all of the areas where the ATI stock makes contact with my hands/arms with some self-adhesive camo wrap from Cabela’s. Cheap solution to a garbage product. Here’s a link to an image after I wrapped it up: http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e163/Deviate_3s/Guns/7cb4ff28.jpg
Since the post touches briefly on the subject of foregrips, the Mako aluminum 3-picatinny piece ($100 from Cheaper Than Dirt) is fantastic.
