Magazine Extension for Remington 870 and Lengths of the Barrel

Posted on September 12, 2009

If you want to have the magazine extension tube that goes right to the end of the barrel (what makes it look tactical not hunting shotgun) you need to remember following:

+3 rounds magazine tube extensions (TacStar, Choate) for the Remington 870 will fit barrel with length of 20 inches. Remington extension will stick out for about 1 inch.

This is my first shotgun it is a 870 Express synthetic 18.5 with the factory +2 mag extension, A tactical light was my first “upgrade” it is a Steramlight TLR-1 with a mount designed for the 870 and a remote switch I mounted on the forend. I had to do a little modification to satisfy my needs but that was just more fun. Total cost was about $170.00.

J.R., thanks, very interesting information. Do you have photos of your shotgun? Please send them to me and I will publish them here on rem870.com. I think it will be interesting for other Remington 870 owners to see your shotgun.
